IPM Programme

The five-year Integrated Program in Management is one of a kind in India, launched by IIM Indore in 2011. It integrates three years of under-graduation with two years of post-graduation.

After the successful completion and placement of the IPM batches at IIM Indore, the programme was introduced by IIM Rohtak and Nirma University at their respective campuses in 2019. IIM Ranchi and IIM Bodh Gaya have since introduced it as well. The course is highly sought after by young aspirants because it offers early entry into an IIM straight after Class 12.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates satisfying the following criteria are eligible to apply for the five-year Integrated Program in Management at IIM Indore.

  • Minimum 60% in Standard X and Standard XII — General and NC-OBC categories.
  • Minimum 55% in Standard X and Standard XII — SC, ST and PwD (DA) categories.
  • Maximum age limit of 20 years for General and NC-OBC categories.
  • Maximum age limit of 25 years for SC, ST and PwD (DA) categories.
  • Candidates must have passed Standard XII / HSC or an equivalent examination, or be appearing for it. Those likely to complete it by the end of June in the year of admission may also apply, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
  • The percentage of marks in Standard X and XII is calculated on the aggregate marks of all subjects appearing on the mark sheet or grade sheet, irrespective of the board’s own regulation.
  • Where letter grades or grade points are awarded instead of marks, conversion to a percentage follows the procedure certified by the board or competent authority.
  • Applicants pursuing Standard X or XII at international schools affiliated to foreign boards such as IGCSE and IB may also apply.
  • IIM Indore reserves the right to decide eligibility conditions in terms of equivalence, percentage of marks, recognition of the qualifying examination and intake.

Selection process

Candidates are selected on their overall performance in the Aptitude Test (AT) and the Personal Assessment (PA). Anyone who fails to appear for either is not considered for selection.

Stage 1

Application

Candidates satisfying the minimum eligibility criteria submit their application online.

Stage 2

Aptitude Test

Based on the applications received, eligible candidates are called for the Aptitude Test, conducted across various cities in the country. There are three sections: Quantitative Ability (MCQ), Quantitative Ability (short answer) and Verbal Ability (MCQ).

Each question carries four marks. One mark is deducted for every wrong answer, except in the Quantitative Ability (SA) section, which carries no negative marking.

Candidates must answer the sections in a pre-specified order, which is the same for everyone. The table above does not indicate the final order of sections.
Stage 3

Shortlisting

The eligible pool for the Personal Assessment is created from candidates with positive raw scores and a minimum mark in each of the three sections. The cut-off for each section is decided by the Admissions Committee and varies by category. Individual regret letters are not sent to applicants rejected at this stage.

Stage 4

Personal Assessment

Candidates for the PA are shortlisted for each category — General, EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PwD/DA — from the eligible pool, using a merit list generated from the Aptitude Test Score.

Maximum and minimum scores are the highest and lowest scores obtained in the respective sections by candidates in the eligible pool.

A category-wise merit list is generated from the Composite Score.

No intimation is sent to candidates who are not selected for the final offer.

Reservations

As per Government of India requirements:

  • 27% of seats for Other Backward Classes candidates belonging to the non-creamy layer (NC-OBC)
  • Up to 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
  • 15% for Scheduled Castes (SC)
  • 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes (ST)
  • 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD)
Intake. The sanctioned intake for the IPM batch (domestic applicants) is 150.
