VISUAL TEACHING METHODS [TV/PPP]
For facilitating a source of information and updation of information on social, political, economic issues with a view to help frame opinions as well as exploring various dimensions in the light of national and international perspectives, watching Television English news channels, Discovery channel, History channel, Science channel, Power – Point presentation and watching selected movies are provided.
INTERNET/Wi-Fi
In the info-centric world access to the internet is the new tangent. To keep up with the changing time the campus has a well equipped computer Laboratory with the provision of unlimited but restricted internet service through Wi-Fi. Students are properly guided to get a near-comprehensive and yet balanced thought through such websites like Wikipedia, British council, wordsmith and online dictionary etc.
ACTIVITIES HOUR
In order to ensure a harmonious growth of the student imbibing proper emotional, psychological and spiritual faculties, a right mix of various activities like Quiz, Elocution, Extempore, Debate, Group discussions, Talent Quotient and skill imparting sessions like spoken English and computer orientation are given.
NEWS PAPER READING – CURRENT AFFAIRS AT HAND
A ‘dedicated newspaper’, for each individual student, is given and a test is conducted for every fortnight to check the knowledge of the students on editorials and current affairs.
PERIODIC SEMINARS & GUEST LECTURES
With an aim to shape the young minds into wise, future civil servants, knowledge is imparted through periodic seminars by the Dean of the Academy and guest lectures by eminent people drawn from All India services and those who championed various social and societal causes.
NATIONAL FESTIVALS & DAYS OF SIGNIFICANCE
To ignite National pride in the nascent minds of the student community, national festivals like Independence day, Republic Day are celebrated with gaiety and fervor. The other days of significance like Teachers’ day, Children’s day, Martyrs’ day and May Day are observed to enlighten students.
EDUCATIONAL TOURS
In our endeavour to give practical exposure and to solidify the theory learnt in class room atmosphere students are taken out to places of historical, geographical, cultural and politico-administrative prominence.
UNIFORM & IDENTITY CARD
Objectively speaking, wearing Uniform on certain days of the week and identity card regularly is strictly followed to achieve Uniformity and camaraderie among the students.
SPOKEN LANGUAGE ON THE CAMPUS
The world’s preferred language ‘English’ is promoted as the language of interaction between students and faculty and among students themselves. However, National language and regional languages will have their occasional and ceremonious presence.
LIBRARY
It is a treasure of books, newspapers, journals, periodicals encompassing different spheres of knowledge for helping students learn and refer to standard texts.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Believing in complementing the mind work, enough volume of qualitative physical activity is introduced in the form of Yoga and both outdoor and indoor games.
STUDY-MATERIAL
Study material, prepared by very experienced subject experts, covering all the aspects of UPSC prescribed syllabus in lucid language, is issued to our students. With an objective of making our students keep pace with current affairs, booklets are issued monthly.
TESTS & EXAMINATIONS
Understanding that testing completes the learning process, we assess the grasp and range of subject knowledge and simultaneously take corrective measures, periodic tests and examinations will be conducted in both academics and competitive subjects.
SPAC [STUDENT PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL CARD]
Aiming high and right, we take corrective measures and find a way ahead, to gauge academic performance. Feedback and all relevant personal occurrences of the student are recorded on SPACs and apprised to all concerned for necessary counseling.
